Mummers String Bands Return to North Wildwood

NORTH WILDWOOD – Nine top Mummers String Bands from Philadelphia will bring their colorful costumes and festive music here for the annual Mummers String Band Saturday on Sept. 10.
It’s an afternoon of free entertainment on Olde New Jersey Avenue, a summertime version of Philadelphia’s famous Mummers New Year’s Day Parade, except that North Wildwood’s version includes a Mummers Strut Contest beginning at 4 p.m., followed by the Parade.
North Wildwood Mayor Bill Henfey said, “This is one of the most popular events in our City. The locals love it, and lots of our visitors plan their vacations around it.”

Marty Good, the new President of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association said, “We’re looking forward to another exciting and successful ‘String Band Saturday’ in North Wildwood.”
So come out and join the fun. And don’t forget to wear your Golden Slippers!
