As we take time to reflect on the 10th Anniversary of a day none of us will ever forget, let us come together to grieve, to remember, to express our gratitude to those who demonstrated what it is to be a hero, and to pledge ourselves to live in honor of their bravery. Wildwood- Wildwood will hold the 10th anniversary 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at 8:00 am at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall located across the street from the WildwoodsConvention Center on Ocean Ave.  At 9 am a moment of silence will be observed along the waters edge behind the Convention Center for all the victims of 9/11. Wildwood Crest- Wildwood Crest’s Patriot’s Day Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 pm on New Jersey Ave. & Miami Road adjacent to Sunset Lake. Call 609.522.0202 for more details.


“Hands Across the Wildwoods” will be held in Centennial Park (Fern Rd. and the Ocean) at 8:00 am. Join us for a peaceful gathering to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11 which took the life of Andrew Alameno and 2,996 other citizens of our country. A small ceremony will take place followed by a patriotic procession down to Rambler Rd. to the beach that Andrew served as a lifeguard in his youth. All are asked to join hands for a moment of silence as an American Flag will fly overhead by a banner plane at the approximate time the towers fell. 609.827.8474.

Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders invite you to attend the 10th annual Patriot Day Ceremony. The ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm outside the County Administration Building, 4 Moore Road (Exit 11 off the Garden State Parkway) in Cape May Court House.

*A resolution has been passed by the United States Congress as well as Cape May County Freeholders calling all communities, churches, firehouses and the public to acknowledge this anniversary with the ringing of bells for one solid minute at exactly 1:00 pm.
