THE WILDWOODS – The Borough of Wildwood Crest hosts its annual Seafarers Celebration Sat., Sept. 24 – a yearly end-of-summer festival set to take place at both Sunset Lake and Centennial Park in Wildwood Crest.
The Seafarers Celebration will begin at 9 a.m. at Sunset Lake, located along New Jersey Avenue between Rambler Road and Miami Avenue, and will include scores of craft vendors and a variety of food vendors lining the Sunset Lake area. The festival will also include live music, children’s activities and family entertainment.
Live music throughout the day will include classic and progressive rock with local favorites the Nobody Band, classic rock and pop with Dogged ‘N Driven, and pop and oldies hits with Michael James.
Family entertainment includes a puppet show by Kamp Kreatures, a stunt bike exhibition, karaoke, an exotic bird show, magic shows and more. The event will also feature face painters, a moon bounce and pony rides.
At 7 p.m., the festival continues near the beachfront at Centennial Park, located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue, with a live musical performance by Bandstand – one of the longest-running and most popular dance and party bands in the Delaware Valley and South Jersey region.
Following the performance by Bandstand, the Seafarers Celebration culminates with a spectacular beachfront fireworks show scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.
