WILDWOOD – The time to dust off the 10-gallon hat, polish the spurs and put on the chaps is growing closer.
Old Dobbin will be able to saunter across Wildwood’s sandy shores on Dec. 6. That’s the day the equestrians can officially ride their horses on the beach.
During a Nov. 22 Board of Commissioners meeting, City Administrator Chris Wood told the board the clerk’s office has already received calls asking about the $100 permits.
“I think we’re going to have a lot of interest,” said Wood. “The licenses become available on Dec. 6.”
In addition to horse owners being allowed to take their mounts onto the sand.
Wood said he had received calls from a horse farm regarding the possibility of renting horses for a ride on the beach.
“The ball is rolling on that,” he said.
