Steel Pier to Build the Tallest Ferris Wheel in New Jersey

The big news for the Atlantic City Boardwalk for the summer of 2013  is that the Catanoso family and their company which is rebuilding Steel Pier, will erect a 400-foot high Starflyer on the pier this summer and it will be the highest in the world . The Star Flyer is essentially a playground swing on a grand scale, and this new ride towering  400 feet may require a red beacon at the top to ward off planes.

And this morning I talked to a inside source who confirmed that they will also build  the tallest Ferris wheel in New Jersey, towering about 200 feet high on the famous boardwalk pier.

The third attraction being considered may be a  zip line between Margaritaville and Steel Pier, these will be the 3 biggest attractions on the Famous Steel Pier since the Diving Horse.

Financial assistance for the development of Steel Pier is from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority who will provide an investment of about $20 million for the famous Steel Pier in 2013.

Stay with us here at The Boardwalk Blog for news and updates on this story, we will have pictures and video of the building of these  three new attractions for the summer of 2013.
