Storm after storm over the years have destroyed the North Wildwood beach time after time and replenishing the sand was just not going to work anymore.

So, this year a new seawall is being built up to about 5th-6th street and it looks great. the beach might not look the same but will save the city on the ocean side from storm surges and beach replenishment cost, sure you will have to do some beach replenishment but only on a flatter surface and not build up big dunes as in the past.

All beaches on the island will be ready for Memorial Day weekend for locals and visitors to enjoy as they have been every summer for over 100 years! Photos by Greg Graham
