According to the Herald Newspaper – Morey’s Piers, which began a major refurbishment of its iconic Giant Wheel last year, recently discovered that several steel components had been stolen from a temporary work zone on the beach located on company property.
The missing materials, valued at more than $175,000, have created an unexpected setback for the project. Despite the theft, the company says it remains confident that the Giant Wheel will return to the Wildwood skyline for the 2026 season, continuing its legacy as one of the Jersey Shore’s most beloved and recognizable landmarks.
