Celebrate National Lighthouse Day at Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

NORTH WILDWOOD – Aug. 7, the Hereford Lighthouse, First and Central Avenues, will host a wonderful celebration of 223 years of great lighthouse heritage and history.

Since 1789 lighthouses in the USA have provided safety and guidance to ships at sea.

There will be free admission to the Hereford Lighthouse beginning at 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

A formal ceremony will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with keynote speaker former New Jersey Congressman and Ambassador to Panama, William J. Hughes.

In addition, there will be other distinguished guest speakers, music, food, special exhibits and a children’s activity area.
