WILDWOOD β The City of Wildwood Fire Department will receive $351,554 in federal funding from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. This is the departmentβs third AFG award, receiving previous funding of $76,155 (2003) and $63,809 (2002).
βThis is outstanding news for the City of Wildwood whose firefighters tirelessly work to keep the community safe day in and day out,β said U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02), a member of the Congressional Fire Caucus. βThere is no shortage of need for additional resources by our local first responders which is why I will continue to strongly support the AFG program. This federal program has made a critical positive impact for so many of South Jerseyβs fire and emergency departments while helping to keep countless residents safe.β
βThis grant will ensure our firefighters are adequately prepared to fight fires,β said Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. βWe can always count on Congressman LoBiondo when it comes to the safety of our firefighters.β
