Half Marathon and 8K Offers Stunning Views of the Wildwoods Coastline,
a Weekend Full of Activities and Free Amusement Park Wristband for Racers
What: More than 3,000 runners will gather at the famed Wildwoods boardwalk to compete in a 13.1 mile half marathon and 8K race on May 17, 2015.
The scenic Wildwoods course will lead runners from ocean views to an action-packed boardwalk. Several fun-filled activities are scheduled during the race weekend, including: the Wild Child kids beach run, a Boardwalk 5K race, a Piers & Pasta party at Joe’s Fish Co., and Vinyasa Yoga on the beach in front of Raging Waters Water Park all happening on Saturday, May 16. Registered participants also receive a free unlimited ride wristband to Morey’s Piers for use throughout the weekend. For Sunday’s race there are cheer stations throughout the course to provide added encouragement; a block party style finish line celebration featuring live music by Stellar Moto, a beer garden, Aloha Smoothies and samples from Alumni Grille, and Johnson’s Popcorn.
Through the Wild Half’s “Go Wild for Charity” program, many of the participating athletes will run to support and raise money for their favorite charitable organizations. Official charity partners of the 2015 Wild Half include ALS Chapter of Greater Philadelphia; Lunch with Lynch; and JDRF South Jersey.
