Lights, Camera, Action in Woodbine, NJ!
Woodbine, New Jersey, is buzzing with excitement as the small town becomes the backdrop for a major Hollywood production. Renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg has chosen Woodbine for his latest project, an untitled UFO-themed movie starring Emily Blunt and Wyatt Russell.
The film crew, consisting of approximately 175 members, has already started preparations, with filming scheduled to take place from March 10 to 14. Scenes will be shot along Woodbine’s historic railroad tracks, extending into Buena Vista Township. The town’s unique charm and rich history have made it an ideal location for this highly anticipated movie.
Local businesses are already feeling the positive impact of the production. Dionysus Restaurant, a staple in Woodbine for nearly four decades, has been serving breakfast trays to the film crew, bringing new faces and increased business to the area. Mayor William Pikolycky is thrilled about the economic boost and the attention the film is bringing to Woodbine.
Woodbine’s history as a former manufacturing and agricultural center, along with its diverse cultural heritage, adds to the town’s appeal as a filming location. The Sam Azeez Museum, housed in a former synagogue from the 1890s, chronicles the town’s unique origins and could serve as inspiration for Spielberg.
This isn’t the first time Woodbine has been in the spotlight. The town was previously featured in the 1964 indie classic “Nothing But a Man,” which depicted the struggles of an African-American railroad worker in a small racist town. Now, with Spielberg’s new project, Woodbine is once again stepping into the Hollywood limelight.
Stay tuned for more updates as Woodbine transforms into a Hollywood set, bringing excitement, jobs, and a touch of movie magic to this charming New Jersey town.
