The Wildwoods, NJ – June 21, 2012 – Morey’s Piers invites kids to get fit and participate in their first “marathon” on Thursday, June 28. The Wild Half Mile, a run for kids 12 and under, will begin at the Convention Center at 10:30 a.m. and follow one half mile of the Boardwalk ending at Mariner’s Landing Pier on Schellenger Avenue.
“Kids loved the Wild Half Mile last year so we decided to bring it back,” said Kristel Fillmore, Events and Entertainment Manager. “It’s a great event for kids and families that also promote health and fitness at a young age.”
Registration will be at the Wildwoods Convention Center from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Kids are encouraged to show their “wild side” by dressing in animal print and wearing animal ears, tails and noses. Free face painting will also be provided so kids can look like their favorite animals.
Refreshments will immediately follow the race at the finish line located in front of the Balloon Race game on Mariner’s Landing. All race participants will receive complimentary admission to Raging Waters Waterpark located behind Mariner’s Landing, and parents can take advantage of a discounted admission of $20 for the waterpark which can be purchased at the finish line in front of the Balloon Race.
