Wildwood’s New Doo Wop Wawa Is Taking Shape!

Wildwood’s newest Wawa is officially underway, and the progress is moving fast at 3400 New Jersey Avenue. The old Rite Aid is now completely gone, and the entire property has been cleared to make way for the island’s newest Doo Wop‑inspired convenience store.

Crews are already shaping the footprint of the future building. Heavy equipment is on site daily, grading and leveling the land, with piles of sand and gravel surrounding a freshly compacted base.

This location will feature a 6,000+ sq. ft. store along with fuel pumps, bringing a full‑service gas station to a part of Wildwood that hasn’t had one in years. City officials also worked with Wawa to include retro Doo Wop design elements, so expect bold lines, bright signage, and a look that fits the island’s classic style.

Construction is still in the early stages, but the pace is steady. Once the foundation and utilities are set, vertical construction will begin — and that’s when things will really start to take shape.

Wildwood’s next big upgrade is officially on the way.
