Check out the Renderings for a New Proposed Wildwood Crest Fishing Pier.

Will there be a new Wildwood Crest Fishing Pier with the extending of the existing fishing pier at Heather Road?

It was first built in 1919 and was run by the Wildwood Crest Fishing Club until 2006 when the city purchased it.

The Army Corps of Engineers dune elevation project is suppose to be done sometime between 2021 or 2022. The pier would have to be extended 500 feet to be able to be used for fishing again. It would be a larger pier about 12-16 ft across to allow for bike and wheelchairs.

The project would raise the height of the pier from 8 feet to 14+ feet so there would be enough clearance for the new dunes that will be 14 feet.
Proposed would be a new archway, surf board statue, covered benches and a sun stone design. There will also be a new restroom building, roof-top seating, hammock seating and a large gazebo for weddings.
