The mayor told us that he is trying to rebuild one park a year. This year it’s the Andrews Ave park between NJ and Pacific Ave’s. The property has the oldest building on the island and was the first building in Holly Beach. The tiny building was a one room school house.

Holly Beach one room school house.

The mayor showed us the work being done there, cutting back of all trees, new concrete paths, new sprinkler system, the rebuilding and repainting of the center fountain, all new pillars that will have black iron gates installed in between them. There is a also a Maypole that was erected in 1886 for the children of Holly Beach School.

The NEW Holly Beach Park should be completed by memorial Day 2019.
