NORTH WILDWOOD—On Feb. 9, 2012, The Press of Atlantic City reported on property taxes statewide in 2011. Included with the article was a grid showing the average tax rate by municipality in Cape May, Atlantic, Cumberland and Ocean Counties.

According to statewide figures, North Wildwood fared better than most, having the lowest average property tax bill of any ocean front town on the Jersey Shore and the 19th average lowest tax bill in the state. Furthermore, the grid shows North Wildwood’s average local property tax increase from 2010 to 2011 to be 0.0 percent

This continues a trend in North Wildwood.  The City has had the lowest average tax bill of any New Jersey shore community since 2006.

Mayor Bill Henfey said, “It has been the goal of my administration to maintain the high quality of life that is the reason people choose to live in and visit North Wildwood while keeping our affordable tax rate.”

Council President Patrick Rosenello was pleased that this important information, the result of insightful planning, has been publicized.  “The fact that we are able to provide all of the amenities that we provide while also maintaining the lowest average tax bill on the Jersey Shore is a testament that good government practices are working in North Wildwood.”
