Downtown Wildwood is gearing up for a busy summer season with the introduction of a new public parking lot set to add approximately 70 spaces in a prime city location. The lot will be situated at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Schellenger Avenue, at the current site of the seasonal Farmers Market.
Operated through ParkMobile, the parking area aims to provide visitors with a convenient app-based payment method while exploring the downtown shopping and dining district. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance accessibility for both tourists and locals navigating the area.
In partnership with Crest Savings Bank, the project is anticipated to drive additional foot traffic to businesses along Pacific Avenue, supporting the local economy and enriching the overall visitor experience. With the summer crowds increasing each year, parking has become a significant challenge in Downtown Wildwood, making the addition of 70 new spaces crucial to easing congestion and improving access to district attractions.
Despite the new parking lot, the beloved Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market will continue as scheduled, bringing a vibrant community atmosphere to the Pacific Avenue corridor every weekend. The market’s mix of fresh produce, baked goods, specialty foods, crafts, and local vendors create a lively environment with live music and family-friendly activities, contributing to the heart of Wildwood.
The lot’s dual-purpose approach as a community gathering spot and parking solution during peak tourism periods underscores the city’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and supporting its downtown business district. Set to open in time for the upcoming summer season, this project highlights Wildwood’s dedication to enhancing the visitor experience and accommodating the growing number of tourists. With the new parking lot in place, finding a spot in Downtown Wildwood just became a little easier for all visitors this summer.
