ADMIRAL DU PONT was a U.S. side-wheel steamer of 473 gross tons, built in 1847 at West Ham, England.
On June 8th, 1865, while en route with government supplies, from New York City to Fort Monroe, Va ADMIRAL DU PONT collided with the British vessel STODANOCA off Cape May and sank, with the loss of fifty to twenty crew members.
